For all those who have been reading the Under the Never Sky trilogy from the start this book means the end of a cherished dystopian series. And while this book didn’t come close to the awesomeness of Under the Never Sky it also didn’t disappoint. Into the Still Blue delivers a satisfying closure.
A lot of Young Adult series have lately left with their last installments a bitter taste in my mouth and in regards to this Into the Still Blue brings a well-plotted conclusion. All characters have learned from their faults and insecurities, relationships evolve convincingly and the plot progresses beautifully throughout all three books. There are some surprising plot twists that fit into the overall story and will keep you interested to the end.
My only complaint about this book is that at times it seemed overly artificially constructed. Veronica Rossi knew all along where to go with her story and the ending comes as no surprise to the reader. Into the Still Blue is very action oriented with the action taking place during a very short time span. Rossi leaves almost no room for emotional proceeds. Of course we know ALL the characters already.
For fans of the series this is an adequate conclusion, leaving no questions unanswered. For all newcomers to the story of Aria and Perry, rest assured that the series is worth your time.
